Geoffrey Hinton, a University Professor Emeritus of computer science at the University of Toronto, won the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics. He shared the prestigious award with Princeton University’s John J. Hopfield for their foundational discoveries in physics that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks.

Robotics research on novel control architectures, algorithms, sensing, and human-friendly designs for advanced capabilities in complex environments. With a focus on enabling robots to interact cooperatively and safely with humans and the physical world, these studies bring understanding of human movements for therapy, athletic training, and performance enhancement. Our work on understanding human cognitive task representation and physical skills is enabling transfer for increased robot autonomy. With these core capabilities, we are exploring applications in healthcare and wellness, industry and service, farms and smart cities, and dangerous and unreachable settings -- deep in oceans, mines, and space.

Prof. Dr. Kaya Kuru received the B.Sc. degree from the National Defence University (Turkish Military Academy), the ADP/Major degree in computer engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), the M.B.A. degree from Selçuk University, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science/medical informatics (artificial intelligence) from METU. He completed his postdoctoral studies with the School of Electronics and Computer Science, University of Southampton, U.K. He has recently engaged in the implementation of numerous AI-based real-world autonomous and robotics systems within various funded projects. His research interests include the development of geo-distributed, responsible, ethical and autonomous intelligent systems using FL, ML, DL, and DRL with CPSs.

Dr. Zhenglong Sun is an Assistant Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, where he holds a joint appointment in the School of Science and Engineering and the School of Artificial Intelligence. He also serves as the Co-coordinator of the Biomedical Science and Engineering Program and Deputy Director of the Healthcare Robotics Research Center at the Shenzhen Institute of AI and Robotics for Society (AIRS). Beyond his institutional roles, Dr. Sun shapes the academic landscape as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Medical Robotics and Bionics and as a committee member for several international conferences in Robotics and AI. An IEEE Senior Member, Dr. Sun has published more than 100 papers in top-tier robotics and biomedical engineering peer-reviewed publications, garnering over 3,000 citations (h-index: 30). His current research interests include medical robotics, human-robot collaboration, and multimodal perception.

Dr. Xi (Vincent) Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Production Engineering (IPU) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, where he also serves as the Head of the Production Systems and Automation (PSA) unit. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 2013, following a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tianjin University, China, in 2008. In 2021, he was awarded the title of Docent (doctoral supervisor) by KTH.
His research focuses on cloud manufacturing, robotics, digital twins, computer aided design, and manufacturing systems. In addition to his research and academic leadership, Dr. Wang serves as Managing Editor of the International Journal of Manufacturing Research (IJMR). He is also an Associate Editor of the SME Journal of Manufacturing Systems (JMS), Flexible Services and Manufacturing Journal (FSMJ), Array, Advanced Equipment, Human Machine Interaction (HMI), and Engineering and Technology Management.

David Baker was awarded half of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for "computational protein design". The other half was awarded jointly to Demis Hassabis and John M. Jumper of Google DeepMind for their contributions to protein structure prediction.
Baker, a biochemist at the University of Washington and director of the Institute for Protein Design, was recognized for successfully creating entirely new kinds of proteins not found in nature. In 2003, he achieved this by using computer-based methods (pioneered through his lab's Rosetta software program) to design a novel protein structure from scratch. Since then, his team has designed artificial proteins for applications in targeted medicines, vaccines, tiny sensors, and nanomaterials.

Prior to earning my college degree, I entered the US Army, and flew helicopters,
including one year in Vietnam, and I was a flight instructor. I graduated from Embry
Riddle aeronautical university in 1973 with a degree in aviation science. I attended the
University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (now the Perelman school of Medicine),
from 1978-82. I completed my Ob/Gyn residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in
Pittsburgh in 1986. I have been in private practice in Denton, Texas since 1986. My
focus has been pelvic pain, laparoscopy, and endometriosis. I have performed over 4000
standard laparoscopic endometriosis cases. In 2007 I began performing robotic surgery,
and perform all my laparoscopic surgeries utilizing the robot completing well over 2000
robotic endometriosis cases. I have published several papers addressing pelvic pain,
laparoscopy, endometriosis, and robotic surgery. I presented the Sir Alec Turnbull Lecture
at the Annual British Society of Gynaecologic Surgeons in 2007. I only treat
endometriosis/pelvic pain patients, and I have particular interest in adhesions.

Dr. Goldenberg is the founder of Engineering Services Inc. (ESI) - www.esit.com, established in 1982. ESI is a high-technology company involved in the development of robotics-based automation and technology. Under his leadership, the company has achieved significant growth and a global leading role in a wide range of industrial sectors.
From 2000 to 2001 Dr. Goldenberg was also the President of Virtek Engineering Science Inc. (VESI), a high-technology company formed after the acquisition of part of ESI by Virtek Vision International Ltd., a publicly listed company.
Dr. Goldenberg is also President of Anviv Mechatronics Inc. (AMI), which he founded in 2006. Anviv is a high-technology company involved in the development of mechatronics products. Since 2019 Anviv Mechatronics focuses on AI-Embedded Robotics. In 2021 Dr. Goldenberg has established two companies active in AI-Embedded Robotics: TNL AI-Embedded Robotics Inc. and ESIRAI Inc.
In May 2015 ESI has been acquired by a Chinese consortium located in Shenzhen, P.R. China. He has been the President of ESI after the acquisition until the Chinese consortium became a public company listed in Hong Kong. Dr. Goldenberg has been the Chief Technology Officer of the public company until May 12, 2019, when he left the public company.
Dr. Goldenberg is also the founder of the field of Robotics at University of Toronto where he has been from 1982 as a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, cross appointed in the Institute of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering, and previously cross-appointed in the Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is as of 2011a Professor Emeritus. Dr. Goldenberg is also an Adjunct Professor at Ryerson University and Guest Professor at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, P.R. China.
Dr. Goldenberg has supervised to date one of the largest numbers of graduate students in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (48 PhD and 67MASc). He has an exceptional publication record with over 11500 citations (134 archival journal papers, 306 papers in major conferences, 15 book chapters and 95 patents granted and applied).
As of May 2019, he has returned to the University on a part-time basis to work on graduate research in the use of Artificial Intelligence in Advanced Robotics, focusing on Personal Service Robots. This is the domain of research of RAL ‘2019.
From 1975 to 1981 Dr. Goldenberg has been an employee of SPAR Aerospace Ltd., of Toronto, working on the development of the first Space Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (Canadarm).
Dr. Goldenberg is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE), a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), a Fellow of The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEng), and a Designated Consulting Engineer in Ontario.
He is the recipient of the 2010 PEO Engineering Medal for Entrepreneurship, the 2013 EIC Sir John Kennedy Medal for Outstanding Merit in the Engineering Profession, the 2016 IEEE A.G.L. McNaughton Gold Medal for Exemplary Contributions to the Engineering Profession, and the 2018 Ph.D. (Honorary) from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
Dr. Goldenberg is a former editor of the archival international journal IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, and a member of the editorial boards of Robotica, Robotics in Japan, Robotics Journal, Scientific World Journal, Industrial Engineering and Management Journal, SOJ Robotics and Automation and International Journal of Automation and Computing.
Dr. Goldenberg obtained his PhD in 1976 at the University of Toronto, and his M.A.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in 1969 and 1972, respectively. Dr. Goldenberg was born in Bucharest, Romania.

Dr. JingTao Yao received a Ph.D. degree from the National University of Singapore. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Computer Science,University of Regina, Canada.
Dr. Yao serves as an Area Editor of International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, Special Section Editor of Cognitive Computation, and a member of Editorial Boards of various international journals. He is currentlythe Steering Committee Chair, a Fellow, and past President of the International Rough Set Society. He was a member of Canada NSERC Discovery Grant Selection Committees and Evaluation Groups: Computer Science from 2017 to 2020, and 2026. He has been a Chair or a member of the Program Committee of numerous international conferences and has edited many volumes of conference proceedings.

Dr. Yao’s research interests include machine learning, deep learning, federated learning, rough sets, data science, three-way decision, and Web-based support systems. He has over 180 refereed journal articles and conference papers published in these areas and has received over8,000 citations according to Google Scholar. He has three highly cited papers (top 1%) and one hot paper (top 0.1%) according to Web of Science. Dr. Yao has been recognized as a top 90,000 (top 0.77%) scientist across all scientific fields over half century based a new standardized citation metrics developed by scientists led by Stanford University.

Dr. Darwin Tat Ming LAU is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where he joined in 2015. He received his B. Eng (1st Hons) and B.CS degrees from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 2008. He received his Ph.D. degree in the area of robotics in 2014 from the University of Melbourne, Australia. From 2014 to 2015, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics, University Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris, France. His research focuses on topics in robot manipulation, particularly related to kinematic and dynamic analysis, design, optimisation and control of novel mechanisms, and human-robot teleoperation, including cable-driven parallel robots and bio-inspired robots. In addition to fundamental research, Dr. LAU also has great interest in the application of novel mechanisms to impactful real-world applications, including building construction (such as robotic brick laying, facade cleaning, painting, foundation works and facade inspection), musculoskeletal robots and wearable assistive devices.

Wang Cong, born in July 1992, is from Fengxian County, Jiangsu Province. He is a member of the Shaanxi Youth Federation, an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at Northwestern Polytechnical University, and a national innovative talent. He has been jointly trained at the University of Alberta, Nanyang Technological University, and the National University of Singapore. His main research directions are complex domain image analysis and processing, and mathematical foundations in artificial intelligence. In the past five years, he has presided over 13 scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China Mathematics Tianyuan Fund Key Project, General Project, Youth Project, Science and Technology Innovation 2030-"New Generation Artificial Intelligence" Major Project Sub-Project, and the Ministry of Education Chunhui Plan Cooperative Scientific Research Project. He has published more than 40 academic papers as the first author or corresponding author, including more than 20 IEEE Transactions on Papers, and published 1 English academic monograph, 1 textbook, and 1 Book Chapter. He won the Shaanxi Province Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation, the China Image and Graphics Society Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Nomination Award, and the IEEE ICICN Best Young Scientist Award. He has guided graduate students to win the IEEE ICICN Best Student Paper Award twice in a row. He was selected into the China Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program, the Ministry of Education Chunhui Program, the China Association for Science and Technology Excellent Chinese and Foreign Youth Exchange Program, the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology Youth Talent Support Program, and the Northwestern Polytechnical University Soaring Talent Program. Dr. Muhammad Zahid Iqbal is a British Academic, working as an Assistant Professor in Immersive Technologies at Teesside University, External Examiner at Northeastern University London, and External Assessor for the Digital and Technology Solutions Professional& Specialist programme at Manchester Metropolitan University. He completed his PhD in Computer Science from University College Dublin, Ireland. He has an academic background and experience in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, immersive technologies (including virtual and augmented reality), and the metaverse. Before joining Teesside University, Dr. Zahid worked as an associate faculty member at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and the National College of Ireland. He also worked as a Principal Investigator on a British Academy-funded project (Empathic VR for communities facing military conflicts) and co-PI on an Innovate UK-funded AI Feasibility project for healthcare. He aims to create inclusive and equitable technological solutions that empower individuals and communities.

Viacheslav Burlov received a Specialist’s degree in Flight Theory (1972), a Doctorate in Cybernetics and Systems Analysis (1979), and the title of Professor of Technical Sciences in Cybernetics and Systems Analysis (1999).
Professor Burlov is a renowned scholar in the fields of control systems, systems research, artificial intelligence systems, security, and the modelling of processes of various physical natures. He is the author of more than 15 peer reviewed books and 350 articles published by various publishers in Russia and abroad, including works on the formation of a system forming factor in the design and operation of artificial intelligence systems. In his scientific and pedagogical work, he is guided by the principle: “The aim of science is to seek unity”. Professor Burlov developed a theory of systems synthesis based on the law of preservation of object integrity. He applied the results of his theory in major aerospace projects in the USSR and Russia.
He is a member of the Guild of Experts and a certified international class expert in the quality of professional education.
Professor Burlov heads the scientific and pedagogical school “Systems Integration of Public Administration Processes”. The school is included in the Register of Leading Scientific and Pedagogical Schools of Saint Petersburg.
For his contribution to identifying the development prospects of space technology and training scientific and pedagogical personnel for the space industry, the Russian Cosmonautics Association awarded Professor Burlov with the Academician V. N. Chelomei Medal For his achievements in training highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation awarded Viacheslav Burlov the Honorary Mentor badge.
Viacheslav is a professor at the Higher School of Technosphere Safety at Peter the Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University and a professor at the Department of Information Technologies and Security Systems at the Russian State Hydrometeorological University (Saint Petersburg).

Professor Ghada Al-Hudhud is a distinguished Artificial Intelligence researcher, educator, entrepreneur, and innovation leader with more than two decades of experience spanning academia, research, and industry. She earned her Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from De Montfort University, United Kingdom, following a Master’s degree in Digital Signal and Image Processing. As one of the early doctoral graduates in Artificial Intelligence, she has contributed to the evolution of AI from foundational research to modern intelligent and generative systems.
In addition to her academic career, Professor Al-Hudhud serves as Managing Director and CEO of Gean AI Hub & Smart Solutions in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where she leads the development of advanced Artificial Intelligence solutions, Generative AI applications, Digital Human technologies, and intelligent transformation initiatives. Her industry leadership focuses on translating AI research into scalable, real-world solutions that support digital transformation across government and enterprise sectors.
Professor Al-Hudhud currently serves as a Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Jordan, and has previously held senior academic positions at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. Throughout her academic career, she has contributed extensively to teaching, curriculum development, academic leadership, and postgraduate supervision. She has taught courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Robotics, Digital Image Processing, Software Architecture, Software Quality Assurance, and Emerging Technologies.
Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Brain–Computer Interaction, Conversational AI, Digital Humans, Multimedia Security, Internet of Things, Intelligent Healthcare Systems, Smart Environments, and Human-Centered Computing. She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals and conferences, with research contributions addressing healthcare innovation, intelligent systems, biometric identification, smart environments, and digital transformation. Her scholarly work has received international recognition and citations across multiple disciplines.
Her leadership in AI innovation extends beyond academia and industry into major international platforms. She has showcased advanced AI-driven solutions and innovation initiatives at global technology and investment forums, including GITEX Global 2023 and GITEX Global 2024 in Dubai, as well as Investopia 2024 in Abu Dhabi. At these events, she contributed to the presentation of next-generation AI systems and participated in strategic discussions and partnerships that advance the adoption of artificial intelligence across sectors. Dr. Bradley Fowler earned a Master of Public Policy in Cybersecurity Policy from American Public University System-Summa Cum Laude; Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Master of Science in Managing Information Systems in Information Security Management both from Bellevue University-Summa Cum Laude. He also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology-Summa Cum Laude, Bachelor of Arts in eMarketing-Cum Laude, and Master of Science in Technology Management-Magna Cum Laude, all from University of Arizona Global Campus, a Master of Science in Cloud Computing Architecture from University of Maryland Global Campus-Magnum Cum Laude and a Graduate Certificate in Information Assurance from University of Maryland Global Campus. Dr. Bradley is currently is completing his dissertation research for a Doctor of Education Administration at California Coast University.
